Ruth LaToison Ifill is the founder and managing partner at Aridai, a business management consulting firm that emphasizes the importance of helping clients build equality through their businesses and projects. Aridai, a Hebrew translation of “the lion is enough,” offers comprehensive professional services to enhance and support organizations’ daily operations and bolster the effectiveness of their clients’ workforce.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Ruth moved to Washington, D.C. after attending Howard University. At a young age, Ruth was highly ambitious and knew that there was more to life than just Texas. Ruth’s choice to move east was primarily impacted by the pervasive racism that she experienced growing up in Texas. Even today, Ruth continues to grapple with the effects of racism on her home and work life, which ultimately led her to obtain a Master of Science in organizational development from Trinity Washington University. While focusing her research on black communities in the DC Metro area during her studies, Ruth says she began to believe in the organizational development competencies she learned through her research and was inspired to start Aridai.

One of Ruth’s first experiences was for the D.C. Department of Transportation’s largest construction project, where she was asked to present data to indicate how people of color and socially marginalized communities were accessing economic empowerment through jobs and business contracts on the South Capitol Street Bridge project. Ruth continues to fight for social and economic equality through Aridai by ensuring that her team is committed to equity, inclusion and empowerment in every community, especially the Black community.

Aridai’s goal is to create social awareness and build inclusive work cultures and communities through its services. “I hope that Aridai’s concept of enough (being enough, having enough, and doing enough) brings women of color the ability to live freely, wholly, and joyfully! As the Aridai team leverages what brings us fulfillment to support our clients, we hope we are supporting our clients to identify and spend more time with what makes them feel enough.”
